Toronto, March 6, 2020 — Golden Donation Endowment Chinese Canadian Outreach (GDECCO) will be holding its 23rd “Golden Daffodil Ball” on Saturday, July 18th at Sheraton Parkway Toronto North Hotel to raise funds for Canadian Cancer Society.  The theme this year is “Blooming WithHope”, an evening of beautiful and delicate spring flowers, bringing a message of hope to those affected by cancer.  The ball will be co-chaired by Ms. Ida Li and Ms. Marianne Siu.

Co-chair Ms. Ida Li shares that this charitable event was established in 1998 by generous and caring volunteers from the Chinese Canadian community.  Their mission is to raise money for Canadian Cancer Society, in support of cancer research initiatives. Over the last two decades, close to $3.5 million has been raised.  This year, with the evening’s ‘Blooming With Hope’ theme, attendees will enjoy the beautiful and fun floral decorations of the evening.

Co-chair Ms. Marianne Siu wishes to thank event sponsor Concord Adex Development Corporation for their generous support of this year’s event once again.  She adds that evening celebrations will include dance and singing performances and hopes that attendees will enjoy the funfestivities.  There will also be a silent auction with exciting gifts available for purchase.

Mrs. Nancy Yarmel, Director of Leadership Philanthropy with Canadian Cancer Society, expresses her gratitude to the Golden Daffodil Ball organizing committee for organizing the gala over the past 22 years.  She says that GDECCO has made extraordinary efforts to help fundraise for Canadian Cancer Society.

Mr. Bammy Wong, Co-Chair of GDECCO, is grateful to the community for their ongoing support, most of all to the sponsors and patrons who attend year after year, making Golden Daffodil Ball such a success.  He hopes gala organizers can pass on successful skills needed to hold future galas and events and the younger generations will follow our steps to continue to promote the well-being of our society.

Ticket prices for the Golden Daffodil Ball are $200 for individuals and $2500 for a corporate table (10 seats per table). Mr. Bammy Wong looks forward to everyone in the community continuing their support again this year.

Golden Donation Endowment Canadian Chinese Outreach (GDE CCO)

In 2010, Golden Donation Endowment Canadian Chinese Outreach (GDE CCO) reached a partnership arrangement with Canadian Cancer Society, whereby the Golden Daffodil Ball would be organized as an independent event by a group of volunteers.

Proceeds from the Golden Daffodil Ball and contributions from patrons would go to the Golden Daffodil Endowment Fund (GDEF) to support the mission of Canadian Cancer Society in research, prevention, and promoting awareness of cancer. In addition to the Daffodil Ball and other fundraising events, GDE CCO also organizes cancer prevention forums each year featuring medical professionals as speakers
